Know what your lawn needs this week.

LawnHQ reads your weather, your soil and your watering, and tells you when to mow, feed, spray and water. Then it keeps a journal of everything you've done.

The LawnHQ Today screen: weather, the order of the day, soil temperature and moisture
What it does

One place for the whole lawn.

Set up in a couple of minutes: pick your grass for each lawn, your mower and the products you use from a starter list, then change anything to suit. Everything after that builds from what you log.

Today

What needs doing, and why, from the conditions where you are.

  • Soil temperature and growth, so you feed and spray when the grass can use it
  • A spray window that checks wind and Delta-T
  • The weather now, drawn as it is: rain when it's raining, stars after dark
Today screen

Water

How much the lawn has had against how much it used, day by day.

  • Rain from your own gauge or the local forecast, plus every watering
  • Run, skip or suspend your controller from the app (Hunter Hydrawise today, more to come)
  • No controller? Log hand watering and it counts the same

Plan

Jobs on the days you actually do them.

  • Repeat a job on set days, like a mow every Wednesday and Saturday
  • Log the work and the job ticks itself off, even if you did it a day early or late
  • Skip one without losing the rhythm, and see it all in your calendar
Plan screen

Journal and photos

Every mow, feed, spray and note, with the photos to match.

  • Log a mow in two taps from the Log button, Control Centre or Siri
  • Shoot the same spot each time and compare then and now
  • Records like your lowest cut and wettest day, worked out for you

Ask

Ask about your lawn.

Ask answers from your own records: what you've logged, your weather, your soil test and the photos you send. It can log what you tell it and put jobs in your plan.

Lawn's looking a bit pale after the mow. Should I feed it this week?
Soil has held above 20° for a fortnight, so it can use a feed. Your last one was five weeks ago. A light feed this weekend suits, and Saturday's wind looks low enough to spray iron with it.
Aussie lawns

Set up for the lawn you actually have.

Pick your grass and your area, and the advice follows: mowing heights, feeding, watering and timing for Australian conditions. Got a different grass out the back? Set each lawn up on its own.

  • Every common Australian grass. Couch, kikuyu, buffalo and zoysia, plus cool-season ryegrass and fescue, and mixes of them.
  • Our seasons. A southern-hemisphere year, in Celsius and millimetres, from tropical north to cool south.
  • Your local weather. Soil temperature, rain and spray windows checked against Delta-T, for your suburb.
  • Data kept in Australia, with support from a local team.
Sensors

Works from your local weather. Exact with your own sensors.

LawnHQ needs nothing extra to start. Add a soil probe or a weather station and the advice comes from your own yard rather than the nearest forecast.

Soil temperature

Estimated from the weather near you, or measured with a soil probe. It decides when the grass grows and when products work.

Moisture and rain

A moisture probe and rain gauge show what the soil actually holds, so you water when it needs it.
