Help with LawnHQ

LawnHQ is coming to the App Store. These are the questions we hear most.

What do I need to get started?

An iPhone, iPad or Apple silicon Mac. Pick your grass, your mower and the products you use from a starter list, and change or add anything to suit. That's it: the weather comes from your suburb, so no sensors are needed.

Which grasses does it handle?

Couch, kikuyu, buffalo and zoysia, and cool-season ryegrass and fescue, including mixes. Each lawn is set up on its own, so a buffalo front and a kikuyu back each get their own mowing heights, feeding and timing.

Do I need sensors?

No. Soil temperature is estimated from the weather near you. A soil probe, moisture probe or weather station makes it exact for your yard. LawnHQ reads Ecowitt equipment, which you can buy direct from Ecowitt.

Will it run my sprinklers?

If you have a Hunter Hydrawise controller, yes: LawnHQ shows what's scheduled and can run, skip or suspend watering, always with a confirm. More controllers are planned. Without one, LawnHQ still tracks rain and hand watering against what the lawn uses.

Can I use my own products and equipment?

Yes. The starter list covers common products, mowers and programs so you're not typing everything in, but you can rename, edit, add or remove anything, with your own rates and notes.

Where is my data, and can I take it with me?

It's stored securely in the cloud so it's on all your devices. You can export everything in one file at any time. See the privacy policy.

Does it work on Mac and iPad?

Yes. The same app runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Macs, with your data on all of them.
